Turn a quotation into an invoice
When the customer accepts, do not type the quotation again. One click copies the customer and every line into a new invoice with the next invoice number.
Step by step
- Open the quotation. Saved quotations › open it.
- Press Make invoice. The quotation is saved and the billing maker opens with the customer and lines filled, and the reference "Quotation QT/…".
- Check and save the invoice. Change quantities if the order differs. Saving marks the quotation Invoice made with the invoice number.
- Other steps first? In the App's Sales screen, Convert to… also makes a Sales order or Delivery challan first.
Worked example
QT/26-27/S01 (₹15,104) is accepted but only 15 bags are needed. Make invoice › change quantity to 15 › total ₹11,328 › Save. The quotation now shows "Invoice made INV/26-27/012".
Common mistakes and how to fix them
- Estimate without GST becomes an invoice without GST. If you are GST registered, check the invoice Type is Tax invoice before saving.
